COVID19 Information

Usage of the CHTP is limited to those who have been approved for on campus research by their home department.  To apply for CHTP access, please submit the request form .  All users must abide by the COVID-19 safety plan for the CHTP or risk losing access to the facility.

OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES

  • Card access remains suspended for all users (staff access only)
  • Maximum of 14 people in the CHTP at a time, including CHTP staff
  • 2m distancing is required, with limits on room capacities throughout the CHTP
  • UBC remains under a mandatory mask policy in all public spaces, including shared CHTP lab areas

SAMPLE SUBMISSION

Users will not enter CHTP. Must have Director approval prior to making a booking (min 1 week in advance).

  • For operator-assisted mode, users will be able to communicate via Zoom or email during the sessions, but will not be present at the CHTP
  • Drop off/pick up samples outside the building at the concrete plaza, maintaining 2m distance
  • Samples in moisture proof container and sealed inside plastic bag, labeled with your name
  • Must include the sample submission form with the sample

ACCESS BY TRAINED USERS

Prior to your first visit under COVID-19 restrictions, please watch “CHTP Protocols for In-Person Access during COVID-19” then submit the training quiz

Must have Director approval prior to making a booking (submit scheduling form min 1 week in advance)

  • Must complete COVID screening as per your department requirements prior to arrival
  • Meet outside the building at the concrete plaza, maintaining 2m distance
  • Enter and exit via the stairwell
  • Must complete session on time and exit room at end of booking, no exceptions. If needed, please book another session on a different day.

TRAINING ON EQUIPMENT

Submit a training request.  Please note that training is best completed when you already have samples ready for imaging and can return to complete your first session within 1 week of the training.

  • Training will be a hybrid of online and in-person one-on-one instruction
  • Once trained, you will be able to work independently. Please note that occupancy restrictions and other user requests may prevent additional requests for help once trained
  • Your supervisor will be billed for any training course that you begin, so please ensure that you only request training that you will actually use.
